Eggs in one basket

Hello, how are you doing? Feeling happy and productive? If anything else, don't lose hope. You can do better as long as you do not give up. Try a different means, remember the philosopher that said "the greatest mistakes of men is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting different results". I wish you all the best.

What do we have here today? Oh, I went to the cinema to see the wolverine, with a great friend whom I hold in high esteem, so you know what, it was not a bit boring; it ended so fast, oops. Actually, the movie was great! I have not been following the x-men series, but with my great friend, very good at every movie, or at least almost every, it was as if i never missed any of what was going on.

Like I stated earlier on, I enjoyed the movie, watching the supernatural powers and the power of persuasion of the lady, I only wish ..., let me not ruin the movie for those who have not watched it, but there might be another series. This movie, especially the part where the "powerful" men traveled to Lagos, Nigeria, reminded me of a Yoruba movie "sango". If you are Nigerian or African or a lover of historical movies, or if you are Yoruba person not deprived of ethnic lessons you might have probably seen sango. I saw this movie at a young age, it was about d god of thunder, and the wives and the supernatural powers associated with it.

What do these now amount to? See, I have been looking at box office breaking movies for a while, and I remember Nigeria, my home country, the movie productions there and only hoped there could be a re-introduction of a new genre to glorify a modern Nigerian movie industry. All the movies produced thus far, for a while I could remember, shipped across the sea are all the love-type movies. I wonder if there are still any love-like movies not yet produced by the Nigerian movie industry, yet more are on the way.

After the wolverine I recently saw, I began to ruminate: where are Chinua Achebe, Flora Nwapa, Wole Soyinka and their likes? Where are the great Nigeria movie producers? If slum millionaire could break a world wide box office, I think its high time Nigeria movie producers dispersed their eggs from one basket, and explore to different fields, produce the works of these great authors, and set in to world stage.

Let us hope this word gets out there, and there is a significant change not only for the Nigeria movie industry, but for African movie industry as a whole.
